How To Work on A great banquet
Remember your experience when you went to your Great Banquet? Do you want to re-live that experience? You only attend one Great Banquet as a guest, but you can spend a lifetime as a servant of Christ, opening the eyes and hearts of others by showing His love. Here is how to get involved:
I just came off a Great Banquet, and I am ready to work one.
Your willingness to serve is genuinely appreciated by our community. However, rejoining as an inside team member is seldom an immediate process. It’s crucial to cultivate a servant’s heart through active involvement. Remember, someone was there, assisting with your luggage. They made sure your bed was made up and room was tidied, even if you forgot to do so, and provided the comforting touch of agape on your pillow. Let’s not forget the meals and refreshments that magically appeared during break times. Your service can bring the same joy and comfort to others.
Become a member of the Agape Team
Joining the agape team is your initial journey into our community. They’re the hidden heroes, setting up beds, arranging snacks, and lighting paths at night. The team is a blend of first timers and seasoned members, all united by their dedication to service. Before stepping into the conference room team, you’ll need to experience a Great Banquet, or two, with the agape team. It’s an unforgettable experience that lays the foundation for deeper involvement.
Working on the Conference Room Team
Ask anyone that has ever served on the conference room team, and they will say that it is almost like being at a Great Banquet again for the first time, only better. Why? While they know what is going on, they get to experience the same love of Christ at the same time as the guests. They get to see the changes, the opened eyes, the fire beginning to burn in the guest’s hearts.
Initially, you will serve as an Assistant Table Leader (ATL). On subsequent Great Banquets, you may serve as an ATL again, or you may be called to serve as a Table Leader (TL). Once you have been a TL, you are eligible to work as an Assistant Lay Director (ALD). You could work any of these positions more than once, and finally when God calls, a Lay Director (LD). You can serve as an LD only once, and it is a very rewarding experience as you pray over each and every team member and guest for months leading up to your walk as an LD, and then see the results of your prayers as the love of Christ transforms the guests and prepares them for their 4th days.
All team members pay the same fee as guests when working a Great Banquet.
Just fill out the Team Service Application PDF from the link below and mail it to the address at the bottom of the form or click on the online form link to fill out an online form. You must have gone on a 3 day event with Cross Bayou or with another community. Members from other 3-day walks can fill out an application to work on the agape team.
